I always wanted to be the kind of person that could make a living doing what they wanted to do.
It’s always been of interest to me to find things that I would like to do, like be a photographer or be an artist, and then find a way to teach other people how to do it. That’s what I love to do.
Teaching on Skillshare has become a main source of income for me. I have an audience, I have a structure I can work within, and I’m excited to get out of bed in the morning to go and make videos.
The flexibility of teaching online is really good for me. I go and watch a movie on a Tuesday afternoon; I don’t fit into a 9 to 5. I like the flexibility to be able to take a day off here and there.
The last couple of months, I’ve actually been to Europe, and I’ve been to Australia, so it’s been a big travel year for me.
My motto is, “Find something that you really love to do, Helen, and go learn it and teach it.”
And that’s been really good, it’s a really nice way to live your life.
