Before pursuing a career in surface design, Elizabeth Olwen was working full-time as a graphic designer. While it was great training, Elizabeth “really felt like something was missing, my work wasn’t very fulfilling. I had this burning in my belly like I wasn’t living up to my potential."
Each month, we sit down with one of our top teachers on the platform to learn more about their Skillshare experience. This month, we were excited to connect with illustrator and former art director at Sub Pop Records, Jesse LeDoux, who is making a huge splash this Fall on Skillshare.

Today, Mary Kate is one of the top teachers on Skillshare, enrolling nearly 50,000 students in her hand-lettering classes. It’s hard to believe that just two years ago, she didn’t think she could teach.

She's worked on wedding calligraphy for clients such as Martha Stewart Weddings, Conde Nast publications, and Ford to name a few.
