Skillshare Online Class Teachers!

Not too long ago, we opened up a new opportunity for Skillshare teachers: go global by teaching your class to an unlimited number of students online! Applications to teach a Skillshare online class have flooded in from entirely new Skillsharers and excited teachers from our own community.

Get to know some of the first Skillshare online class teachers - we love their hands-on topics and the passion they have for engaging their students!

1. Liz Long: Design, Source, and Manufacture Your Product Idea

Class Project: Turn your product idea into a manufactured good

Who is she? Liz runs a company called Bag the Habit. She started the company with about $1,000 and 0 experience! 5 years, and many mistakes later, they’ve successfully replaced millions of disposable bags through the sale of her reusable shopping bags.

Do as she does! Liz asks her students what they want to learn more of and then adjusts her live lectures to address those topics.

2. Jennie Lees, Making it Buildable: Turning an App Idea into a Viable Product

Class Project: Create Your Product Story

Who is she? Jennie has been a product manager at Google for the past 3 years. She built and ran her own startup over the waters in the UK - FestBuzz is a crowdsourced guide to the largest arts festivals on the planet. She’s a total hacker and loves making dreams a reality through lean methodologies.

Do as she does! Jennie built group work right into her Syllabus. What better way to test your product idea than to interview your fellow students?

3. Jennifer Barbour, How to Write Blog Posts that Build Community

Class Project: Write an engaging blog post that people will read, comment on, and share

Who is she? Jennifer is a professional copywriter and blogger who has managed all steps of the marketing communications process, from concept to strategy, creation to execution…and often with limited budgets! She’s been a regular blogger since ‘07 and can pretty much write on any topic you throw her way.

Do as she does! Before her class has even begun, Jennifer’s engaging her students with questions in the online Discussions forum for her class and getting her students prepped to hit the ground running!
