PRODUCT UPDATES

We’ve graduated to skills-based learning on the Skillshare platform. Our vision has always been to democratize learning by empowering teachers. One problem we’re trying to solve is around closing the “skills gap” in our society. Too many people do not have the skills needed to fill jobs that are available today - especially around the things that they are the most passionate. The first step in closing this “skills gap” is showcasing the skills and knowledge our peers can share and learn from each other.
OTHER UPDATES
- We’ve released our new brand manifesto video which has been over 115K views times in the first week.
- We’ve launched a contest to receive a free TEDLive Membership (enter today)!
- Updated our homepage along with our new “Teacher Stories” videos.
- Raised over $20K for RaiseCache, HAckNY and the NYC startup community.
- Lucky enough to receive some press on TheNextWeb, BetaBeat, Brainpickings, and listed as “6 Startups to Watch in 2012” by Mashable!
If you’d like to transform education, please apply to join our team on our careers page. Until the next update, I hope that 2012 brings you lots of new opportunities, happiness, and passion.
